Kolber was born in Pennsylvania, received her master's in the University of Miami. When she arrived in New York City, she was hired as a CBS Sports Video Coordinator. She was awarded the Sports Emmy in Miami during her time working at WTVJ-TV. Also, she worked for WPLG-TV Miami and WPEC-TV West Palm Beach in Florida. Her selection was made as an anchor for ESPN2 at the beginning of 1993. The station was her home for ESPN2 over the next three years before leaving it to join Fox Sports. Her return to ESPN hosting in 1999.
